My grandfather passed away in 2008, but I still miss him deeply, especially at Christmas.  My grandpa celebrated Christmas thoroughly.  He was the Santa who handed out presents.  He made tons and tons of delicious homemade candies, from peanut brittle to Martha Washingtons.  And of course, every year he had a Christmas letter.   One year, it was a multi-page catalog of gifts that we should get him. (And of course a vacuum for my grandma. Or maybe it was a broom.)  Often it was a poem like the one above.  Toward the end of his life, the poems focused more on Jesus and less on stuff.   As I’ve written before, my grandpa was the most Christlike man I’ve ever known.  And the best Santa.

I miss him a lot.
